At Sande™ (formerly Sande Kids™), we believe the best adventures happen outdoors - which is why protecting the places we love is something we take seriously.

Founded by an Environmental Scientist and mum of four, sustainability has been considered from the very beginning. While we're not perfect, we're committed to making thoughtful decisions, continuously improving our products and reducing our impact wherever possible.

Our commitment

  • We choose to work with manufacturers who share our values, creating high-quality products designed to be used and loved for many summers.

  • We take the time to understand our suppliers, materials and manufacturing processes, ensuring we make responsible choices that support both people and the planet.

  • Rather than chasing fast trends, we focus on timeless designs and durable construction that help reduce unnecessary consumption.

Thoughtfully Designed Products

Our products are designed to last.

The Beach Hauler™ collection, Crossbody Bags and accessories are intentionally built for years of beach days, travel and outdoor adventures. By creating products that people reach for again and again, we aim to reduce the need for constant replacement.

We're continually exploring more sustainable materials and manufacturing innovations as they become commercially viable without compromising quality or longevity.

The Sand Brush

Our original Sand Brush and new Sand Brush Mini are Fair Trade and handmade in Sri Lanka using sustainably sourced rubber wood, coconut husk and jute fibre bristles.

Made entirely from natural materials, they are biodegradable and compostable at the end of their life. We're incredibly proud that our Sand Brush received both a Gold Award and Editor's Choice Award in the 2023 Clean + Conscious Awards, with both the Sand Brush and Sand Brush Mini recognised as finalists in the 2026 awards. Our Sand Brush was and was nominated in the inaugural Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2024.

Better Packaging

We've worked hard to minimise unnecessary packaging across our range.

Our swing tags and printed materials are made from recycled or FSC-certified paper, while our orders are shipped in Better Packaging Co. POLLAST!C satchels made from recycled Ocean Bound Plastic pollution collected from coastal communities before it can enter our oceans. By choosing these satchels, together we've already helped remove over 460kg of plastic pollution from the environment.

Even our shipping labels are compostable.

We're constantly reviewing our packaging to find ways to further reduce waste and improve sustainability across our supply chain.

Giving back

Protecting our oceans goes beyond the products we create. We back two organisations doing the work, and invite our community to take action too.

  • We donate $1 from every order, funding education, advocacy and action to reduce plastic pollution.

  • We support SurfAid through product donations and fundraising, helping improve the health, wellbeing and resilience of remote coastal communities close to home.

Small actions, repeated by many people, create meaningful change.

Take 3 for the Sea encourages a simple but powerful action, It's a philosophy our family embraces and one we're proud to share with our community.
